This full-time position will require the employee to work part-time as Good Assist Outreach Navigator and part-time Work Adjustment Trainer.

In addition to H.S. Diploma and specified degree or certification, applicant must also be able to perform the essential duties as outlined above.
WORK ADJUSTMENT TRAINER
This individual has direct oversight of supervision of consumers assigned to their WAT training area; maintain daily logs on the individual’s progress; complete timely monthly reports on consumers; development that includes, but is not limited to: skills, growth, punctuality, socialization, behavior, and overall improvement.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in working with diverse population of disabled and/or disadvantage clients; developing and maintain professional and cooperative relations with DARS counselors, WSAT Coordinators, and DBS consumers; have excellent verbal/written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and technical skills. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to train, monitor, coach and evaluate disabled individuals and/or a population of youth some having disciplinary challenges; intervene/address consumer crisis, perform extensive report writing (good written and verbal communication skills; a must). Mobility – required to stand; frequently walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Dexterity – requires hands to manipulate, feel, reach, lift and/or carry. Sensory – able to see objects, colors at close range or distance, peripheral, and depth vision, communicate orally with normal hearing decibel. Lifting – frequently lifts and/or carries 25 to 50 lbs. using safety measures in place. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education, Sociology, Social Services, or Liberal Arts) with a minimum of one year of experience in rehabilitation or work adjustment like services; or an AA degree in a related field and 2 years of training/experience; possess computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Excel/Outlook). Substitution: 4 years of directly related experience working with people with disabilities and/or in group homes or half-way houses. An AA degree must be obtained (in a related field as approved by the organization) within 2 years of appointment. A valid TXDL/driving record acceptable to agency liability carrier is required for this position.
