Job Information

The incumbent in this position will primarily be responsible for the supervision and coordination of all Job Coaches and Employment Specialist (currently 2 locations:  Longview, South (Loop)

This individual will maintain oversight of staff ensuring close contact with clients during job training and placement to resolve problems and evaluate placement adequacy; perform intake and coordinate situation assessments for consumers; coordinate job readiness and placement for persons coping with personal, social and vocational difficulties; communicate with business partners to maintain employment for consumers; verify/proofread documents/records as it pertains to benchmarks, Job Coach notes, and CCSA’s, etc.; monitor credentialing of staff; ensure all billing is submitted timely and proofread from all Job Coaches and Employment Specialists; conduct job interviews.

  • Provide oversight of departmental documentation
  • Assist in the training process of new staff as well as ongoing training to existing staff
  • Coordinate day to day departmental communication, scheduling and review of internal and state

documentation

  • Provide administrative support to management
  • Provide updates to Manager of Mission Services on a consistent basis regarding Employment

Services consumers

  • Perform duties of Employment Specialist
  • Perform back up Job Coaching duties as needed
  • Coordinate all Employment Services programs
  • Proofread job coach logs and benchmarks prior to Job Coach, Employment Specialist or

Consumer signing

  • Coordinate job coaching schedules
  • Notify Employment Specialist of overflow job coaching needs
  • Participate in Division staff meetings and provide updates on consumers
  • Coordinate transportation for Employment Services consumers
  • Review and edit Job Coach’s and Employment Specialist time records in TC1 system prior to the end of pay period.
  • Review PTO for Job Coaches and Employment Special prior to approving time off.

Audit word document notes, as well as application logs, and address with Manager any deficits promptly

The ideal candidate will be proficient in the above-listed skills set in addition to demonstrating the ability to: supervise staff while possibly carrying a caseload of approximately 5-10 consumers; provide supported employment leadership; ensure Benchmarks are met and submitted timely by staff; partner with DARS and other community/business referral sources, such as schools and community groups to maintain relationship; analyze information from interviews, educational and medical records, consult with other professionals; locate barriers to employment and work with clients to develop strategies for overcoming these barriers; communicate effectively orally and in writing; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified individuals must have a high school diploma or GED; in addition to a Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S) in a related field of study (rehabilitation, business, marketing, or a related human services field (a Master’s degree is a plus); four years related experience, two of which included supervision of staff. A valid TXDL/driving record acceptable to agency liability carrier is required for this position; ability to lift up to 25lbs.
