Jonathan Aranda has a goal of joining a cybersecurity team. He has a professional background having worked for a large adventure park for 10 years and an assistant manager of a vape shop, but there’s one thing standing in his way of becoming a cybersecurity/IT professional. He lacks the certifications necessary to break into the field.
He prides himself on having good people skills and being a team player, which are skills that all employers want to see. “I don’t always expect to be right or have the right answer as much as I am will to learning,” he said.
His “lifelong learner” attitude brought him to Goodwill’s GoodTech Academy in January 2019 after relocating to the Tyler area from Ft. Worth, TX. Jonathan is taking advantage of as many courses as he can. “I want to gain as much knowledge as I can with GoodTech to hopefully apply it to a career. I’m not getting any younger and need to start thinking about my future. The training has been outstanding. It’s a lot of information to retain, but it has been very educational and motivating.”
